A few of our Happy Customers…

All my life I have been physically active. I am no great athlete, but I really enjoy setting myself a goal and pushing myself and I love being outside. Nothing beats going for a run early on a summer morning when no-one else is around. In recent years I have enjoyed combining running, cycling and swimming and I completed my first triathlon last year.

I have been going to The Physiotherapy Centre for many years. They have helped me with acute injuries – for example, when I broke my arm four years ago playing netball. I also have a long-term neck problem which resulted in me having frequent migraines. After a course of physio, I no longer have headaches but I still come in for a session now and again just to keep the neck in good shape.

Being physically active every day when you are in your 50s does take its toll on your body. With the help of the fabulous folk from The Physiotherapy Centre, I am able to carry on doing the activity I love and stay fit and healthy.

In March 2009 I had the misfortune of tripping and breaking the femur in my left leg. My operation, whilst in hospital, involved the insertion and screwing of a 10 inch titanium pin into the top of the left leg. I returned home 2 weeks later together with crutches and certain ‘disabled equipment’ to aid my recovery.

However, although my mind remained very active, my progress, as far as I was concerned, was very slow. My aim was to be mobile by July (2019) when it was to be my 80th birthday. Remembering that several years ago I had successfully received physiotherapy for a frozen shoulder at The Physiotherapy Centre in Sittingbourne, I made an appointment regarding my current condition. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that The Physiotherapy Centre had another treatment centre closer to me, at Derby Road, Gillingham.

I hobbled, on crutches, into my first appointment and was welcomed by Karen (a Chartered Physiotherapist) who quickly understood, explaining in detail exactly what I had done. Karen not only advised on physiotherapy/treatment but gave me the confidence to follow her guidance and with regard to exercises ect. between treatments.

I can confidently recommend The Physiotherapy Centre – such was Karen’s treatment, professionalism, encouragement and kindness, I was not only able to enjoy my 80th birthday in July, but was able to go on holiday to America 2 months later in September, without using walking sticks or any other aids. (I was originally told at the hospital that it would take up to a year to recover.)
